Steamy~Chic Epaulette

Hello crafty friends!

Madame Ro here today! Just wanted to share with you my latest Zeus & Zoe creation.  I recently had a mishap with my upcycled TP roll cuff bracelet (I shared that in a previous post).  So instead of letting my beautiful flowers and jewels go to waste I decided to turn lemons to lemonade, or in this case turn a cuff bracelet into a "steamy chic" epaulette (shoulder jewelry).  It also coincides with the multifunctional pendant I created. So I paired the two together to make a great statement piece.  Hope you all are inspired by my projects this month. Thanks for sharing your time with me.

I was having a little technical difficulties with my camera so I will not be posting a video this time around :(

Young at Heart Layout by Jen Waugh

Hi everyone, Jen here again with my second project for October. I realised that I hadn't done a layout during my term so decided that with Halloween just around the corner, I would do bit of a "dark" project. The colours are still within the Zeus and Zoe October "Steamchic" theme for this month.

I used the Polish paper manufacturer UHK Designs on my layout and the collection is My Dear Watson.

I added some lace and vintage buttons from my DT pack, I loved how the buttons complimented my colour scheme.

I loved this industrial chic metal charm from my pack and knew it would look great on my layout. The flower is from Manor House Creations and was included in my pack.

To get the textured effect, I used a Kaiser Craft mask with some texture paste. I sprayed with Tattered Angels mist in Sand Beige. Once that was dry I accentuated some of the masking with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye. I also used this to ink my distressed edges.

I heat embossed my 2 Crafty Chipboard with black embossing powder to get the metallic effect. The title sticker is from Prima.

Thanks for joining me in my last post for October. Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween weekend. See you all next month.

P.S The young girl in the photo is in fact me taken during my "goth" phase in the late 80's ;-)

"Steamy~Chic Pendant"

Hello my Crafty Divas!

Madame Ro here today to share with a little fun project that I created. I'm sure you all know that the theme for this month is Steampunk+Shabby Chic= "Steamy Chic" (I love it..lol!)  So I decided to create a multi-functional pendant. I made it so that it could be worn in the hair as well as worn as a broach or pendant.  Me having such funky and edgy style (and I love to break all the fashion rules...lol) I opted to where it in my hair.  So here's what you get when you mix Steampunk, Shabby chic with a sprinkle rock (hence the spikes)...

Hope you all enjoyed my lil project share and be sure to check out my YouTube video. have a great day

Always Be Different Canvas - Jen Waugh

Hi everyone, Jen here with my first project of October. Our theme this month is "Steam Chic", a combination of Steam Punk and Shabby Chic devised by Charlie. We had a specific mood board to work with and I loved working with the colours on it.

I have been wanting to use this photo of my daughter for some time and this theme just seemed to fit in with it perfectly. My daughter is a Photography student in Scotland and they had a Steam Punk  photo session with the make up department. I love the fact that my daughter takes after me in that she doesn't follow trends, she just goes with her individuality.

So here we have my canvas. "Always Be Different"

I covered my canvas with a layer of tissue paper, then used various mists to get the different colours in the mood board. I used a combination of Tattered Angels and Ranger.

All the laces, flowers and the majority of the trinkets were included in in my DT pack and are available in the Zeus and Zoe Etsy store. The key and key hole are Tim Holtz and there are some Prima (Finnabair) Mechanicals cogs.

After I added all my trinkets, lace, chip board, flowers, mesh and other embellishments I used Luminarte Twinkling H20's  to paint them. I finished the canvas off with a layer of Gel Medium.

I hope you like my canvas and remember "Always Be Different". It now takes pride of place on my daughter's lounge room wall in Scotland.  I will be back on October 31st when I will be sharing a spooktacular blast from my past.

Bookmarks

Hello Blog Friends...

Hope you are all doing fine today? I created some Bookmarks with some of the trinkets from my Design Team stash from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Store...

{Double click to zoom in}

Pardon the two photos...I could not decide which one was best...!

This one was made with a piece of canvas ribbon, a little Lace and a pretty bow.

This is what the Button looks like after it was covered with dimensional glaze...

A punched Butterfly and a Tassel adorn this Bookmark...

A felt flourish and Tassel for this Sunny Bookmark...

A lace flower, a few friends and a metal embellishment on this canvas ribbon Bookmark...

A pretty bow, heart shaped embellishment and some ribbon  makes this a pretty Bookmark...On this Button I added some micro beads in the Dimensional Glaze.

~~~
These are the trinkets and Buttons I used from my DT package.
A layer of Gesso.
Various inks and Mists. And then I forgot to take a photo of them after I covered them with the Dimensional Glaze...
Please visit the Zeus and Zoe Blog  for more inspiration from my fellow DT members and also visit Marivic Clifton's Etsy Shop for these and many more vintage inspired items...
And you shall be full of delights
Let them be your mattress
And you shall sleep restful nights.
Yum - a mixed media layout by Yvonne Yam
Hello there! This is Yvonne, here to share my second project of the month - a mixed media layout.  :)
My background was created using paint, some stencils and a gelli plate. Then I added some grid tape and vegetable netting for texture. I also painted my chipboard in gold to create faux metallic embellishments.
The little fish charms from the Zeus and Zoe store were silver - I painted them with gold paint and added some Golden gold mica flakes for texture and sparkle! Perfect for my page about seafood!
