A BIRTHDAY BOOK!

Hey there, my scrappy friends:) Lizzy with you today ~ I've got another Off The Page project - & my mate Sandra will be happy to know, it's also USEFUL!!
It's my version of a Birthday Book - a place to not only record birthdays, but a place to hold those cards I've made for them, as well:)
Here's what I mean:
And here's what this started out in life as:
After covering with gesso, I added some ripped up paper to give some bulk, texture & 'tooth' to the plastic folder cover....on the insides I've used some gold paint to cover the red, & left it plain. On the back cover I added some of the papers I got in my Zeus & Zoe store kit, along with this fun woodgrain washi that's peeping out of the top, also from the store.
For the front cover, I randomly ripped up some LOVELY 'Hershey's' vintage paper, then applied it using Gel Medium.
I 'softened' the edges with some more gesso, then added some gold mica flakes through a mask...
Lovely, lovely glitter!!! Then came some stamping - I thought some numbers were appropriate for a birthday book! For behind the title I added some plasterer's tape & some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist [also in my Shop kit]:

Under the title I added a 'ripped' lady & placed her over the tape.....she seemed to 'fit' - I used a bit of gold paint to smear around the edges, so she sort of 'faded' into the whole cover. Here it is all finished:
This is FLAT mixed media work, as the book is really thick anyways, with the cards it holds - I was really, really happy with how it turned out!
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at this - & it might just give you an idea for your own 'birthday book'!!!

Gypsy Frame Glass Transfer

Hello Everyone!

I did some upcycling that I wanted to share with everyone.  I have this picture frame that I like, but I didn't like the color of the fake wood.  This frame became the perfect candidate for a Zeus and Zoe make over.

First I coated the frame with gesso.

After the first coat of gesso, I added torn strips of pages from an old book.

I did not cover the entire frame with the vintage paper.  I left some areas with only gesso and overlapped the papers in other areas. Ensuring complete dryness, I let the frame sit overnight.  I began painting with the frame.

On the Graphic Fairy's website, I found this image.  I recolored her blouse in photoshop, because I didn't want the bright yellow.

I took Mod Podge and coated one of the pieces of glass, then I took the print out and placed it carefully over the glass.  You have to be very careful if you are using an inkjet printer image, as to not smear the image.

The gypsy image was also left to dry overnight.  Once dry, I misted the back of the paper with water.

Rub the damp paper carefully to remove most of the paper from the glass, being careful to leave the image.

I finished embellishing the frame with goodies.  I beaded dangly metal circles to string across the inside edge of the frame, as a nod to my gypsy image.

The frame can be used with the gypsy image as decor.  Or since this frame can be seen from either side, you could still place a picture inside and have the gypsy image on the back.

Thanks for having a look!

Keying it UP...

...or something like that! I found this WONDERFUL 'E' wood board [E for Elizabeth, my 'real' name] at the Op Shop & decided to use my Zeus & Zoe Etsy Shop goodies to alter it & make a key ring holder for myself. Before:

And I fussy cut a bit of stuff out of the packaging...it's sooo pretty!!!!
Here it is on the finished key rack:
LOVING those little trinket keys....I had fun adding the screws..sorta industrial chic meets pretty vintage!!!

This key WAS brass...thanks to Adirondack alcohol ink, it's now luscious copper...had fun with the trim here;) A little bit of the flower packaging is peeking up bottom Left of this pic.
In all its splendour! Really LOOOVE that paper from my kit!

FEARLESS LAYOUT

Hello Everyone, It's Charllie Here !! With a new project to share. This is a project made by using  the new Products from Zeus and Zoe Etsy store  All Of the supplies that I used are All available from the store.  Just contact My friend Marivic (the owner) for further information .

Today's project is another layout showing the Word "fearless " .  I know Fear can overcome us every time and it is really scary . In this world  we are destined to fight fear and be courageous !!! Fearless is a big word ,you need to take big responsibilities and big steps . After Dad died  I need to show  and act  like  a Fearless person  for I am the only man left in the house !! I know I'm bit feminine  but I guess I can handle it . I just need the guidance of my Mom and my God . So guy's In life be Fearless..

So for this layout I started to prime the brown paper with gesso to make it white  and randomly  spray it using Lindy's stamp gang and October afternoon blue lagoon sprinklers . Then I used all The gorgeous  buttons from the store  and prime t with gesso too . And add my flowers and Prima ones !!

No more chatting here is the  Project !!

A Simple Card...

Hey there! Lizzy with you today. Sometimes you need a quick card.....so I've done one today. I find the easiest way to create a card is to find some patterned paper that doesn't need much else adding to it!
Here's some I got from my Zeus & Zoe kit, that I've easily 'fussied' up.
The shop has some LOVELY patterned papers. This one had all this printed on it already - I simply added some stickers & outlined them...
Then I added some Liquid Pearls, a button & a butterfly charm....alongside that YUMMY flower:)
The Mica flakes & cotton threads add a little texture, as does the row of lace I sewed on.....I also stitched around the edges, & added some distress ink.
The final touch was a splattering of Tattered Angels mist....and that was it. Finis!!!
Took about 30 minutes in all......so next time you're after a quick card, go through your pretty papers & see what you can use:):)

RING THAT BELL!

Hey there! Lizzy with you today to show you a little wall plaque I made for outside our back door...to prompt visitors to ring our bell! I'd previously added some words, but they'd faded away....
First I went through the lovely papers Marivic sent me...
Next, I sanded back the surface of the wood, then I applied some gesso.

I applied my background paper, using some Gel Medium.
And then the fussy cut image...
Gel Medium is brill for gluing, sealing, thinning down paint...just all round useful to have:)
To give an aged appearance, I sanded back the edges & roughed up the surface a little as well:

Applied some VERY old alphabet stickers & decided this chippy arrow would work perfectly....so I added my Lindy's Stamp Gang ink from the Zeus & Zoe store:
It has a YUMMY shimmer!
Using an eye dropper, I've added a few splats with the ink - the higher you hold the dropper away, the bigger the splats:) I also blow on them - the harder you blow, the more they spread!!
I added some cute metal butterflies that were in my Zeus & Zoe kit, then rubbed some distress ink around the edges...
And here it is - FINISHED....you can see I've also outlined around the words & the arrow, too:
And this is my little plaque at our back door....works a treat:):)
Thanks for looking ~ I hope this has got you thinking about how Off The Page projects can be useful:)
